Somebody at KIA must be a fan of Knight Rider
A few weeks ago my car (2000 Dodge Stratus) needed a recall notified repair, and it took longer than they said it would. So they loaned me a car so I could still make it to work on time. The car I borrowed was a Kia Spectra, here is where the KR thing comes into play. I turned on the cruise control and when I got the car to the speed I wanted and hit SET/ACCEL on the controls on the steering wheel the words AUTO CRUISE appears in the gauge cluster
. Now I dont know about you guys, but I thought that was pretty darn cool. MOST cars dont even say anything when the cruise is set, in MY car it simply says CRUISE in the gauge cluster. I just thought you guys would get a kick out of that, I know I did

Cool! My car isn't supposed to say or show anything on the dash I don't think. It's base model. But it does have cruise control. Thing is, my friend tested it out last month for the first time when coming back from inspection (the car passed inspection fine), and he found that the cruise control doesn't work.
Another repair job I can do. But I don't know if I will right away. Like the air conditioning, I never really use it.

fuzzie, all GM cars from the 70s to mid/late 90s didnt have any indicator that the cruise was set wit the exception of the gas pedal pushed when set. the 2000 up GM cars now say CRUISE when set, almost NONE of todays GM cars have the muliti function turn signal stalk (signal, high/low beam, wipers, and cruise) they just control the wipers now, as the cruise settings are on the steering wheel now, or thats how it is in my dads 2004 monte carlo

hey fuzzie in my dads 04 monte carlo you have a knob you pull out of the dash to turn on the headlights just as they did in older cars and if you twist the knob to the left it turns on the dome light if you turn it to the right it dims the gauges just like they did on my 80 malibu i had when i was 17
