Devon wearing glasses

Post by HungarianKnight » Wed May 10, 2006 8:12 am

Did you notice that in the final two episodes of Knight Rider (Knight of the Rising Sun and Woo Doo Knight), Devon is wearing glasses? Was Edward Mulehare ill with his eyes or was it just the curse of age? Or were it the scriptwriters who added the glasses to enhance Devon's "wise old man" archetype? Who knows...

I think the glasses didn't fit the character or Edward Mulhare very well at all, and he could've been given a better-looking pair of glasses, too.
That's only my opinion.
I also don't think that pair of glasses enhanced the character of Devon at all, either.

I suppose with it being the 80's the glasses diden't look that bad.

some of them looked realy bad things had to be big in the 80's hair shoulders i think Glasses were no exception.

Michael Knight's sunglasses were big too, also April had glasses when she used computers, for example the first time we saw April in Goliath episode.
I've never needed glasses so I only guess that the size of them is just based on current style and fashion.

Devon gave the "wise old man" impression even without glasses in my opinion, I liked in the pilot episode how he appeared to be professor Devon Miles who designed KITT, more of an scientist and engineer than chief executive of Knight Industries doing legal research & paperwork.

Even though Universal have done a bang up job on the picture quality ie it looks brand new, there are just some things you can't avoid seeing to take that thought away.
