I'm about to start plunking down some change for KR season DVD box sets. Unfortunately I can't purchase all 4 at once... I'll have to start out slowly.
I'm unsure which season I would be happiest with. Should I start at the beginning? Should I start later on?

I'd suggest starting with the 1st season DVD set of "Knight Rider" myself, so you can see how everything started for the series.
Please take your time in buying each set when you're financially able to also.

I suppose I should've read other peoples' posts before I voted, because I think I agree now. LOL
But Season 3 has the best episodes, IMHO and you don't really need the backstory to enjoy the later episodes - it's not like they build a broader story arc.

The episodes are mostly stand alone ones ie they don't have continuity with previous episodes, with the exception of Goliath Returns, KITT VS KARR, so it really doesn't matter what season you went for providing you have seen the pilot to know how it all started.

Season 1 would be the best to start with if you started with season 4 probably a lot of stuff wouldn't make sense besides it would be better to watch KITT get new features episode by episode.

Season 3 was the best IMHO, with Kitt VS Karr, Junk Yard Dog, Knight in Disgrace, etc. Season 4 was good because of SPM, and Season 2 has the best episode of the whole series, Race for Life. Season 1 was good as well, but in its first two thirds, it lacks the "real" spirit (not counting Knight of the Phoenix, Trust Doesn't Rust and hearts of Stone)...

Sort of off topic but is it just more or do you think the extras excluding the KR 2000 movie left quite a bit to be desired, you couldnt scroll through the BluePrints or photo gallery yourself. witch i wasnt a fan of. also spreading the things out on the discs is kind of a pain as well i would of liked to see singel sided duel layer. DVDs with 2 extra cds one with the KR movie and one with all the extras on one dvd, and no bonuses on Season 2 , ah.
ok i'm done complaining
