PS3 means I can play Knight Rider game in USA?

PS3 means I can play Knight Rider game in USA?
I read in my new edition of game informer that the ps3 with play all ps1 and 2 games and have no region codes in them. And currently unless you like in the UK you can't play the ps2 games of Knight Rider, I know the game sucks reading the reviews on this site, but I still want to play it, no region code means I should be able to play knight rider now right when it comes out?

I just got the Knight Rider game for the PC today. I have played a couple of the missions. Boy am I having a hard time keeping KITT on the road with the keyboard controls...lol. It is fun to me though because I am used to playing Tomb Raider.

Thats the first I'm hearing that Skav. All reports I've seen the PS3 will play all previous generation games. I did see something about no region restrictions MIKEMAC, but I hadn't heard if that was for the prior generations as I only understood it to be for new PS3 games. Also, would it handle PAL as well as NTSC and do the conversion? All up in the air until release I guess.

I was thinking that the system itself did the NTSC/PAL conversion. The data on the cd is pretty much universal save for dialog translations.
But yes, I've read the same thing.. the PS3 won't have region conflicts with games, but it may with dvds. The PSP isn't region coded for games, but it is for the UMD movies. I'm pretty sure they're allowing this so that ppl can import games from Japan and won't hafta solder a chip into the PS3 to do so.

The only problem with a gta style is that many games have now incorporated that kind of style as their own ie look at the new Godfather game which is identical in it's layout and style of GTA.
It will run it's course sooner or later even though I think we need to control michael and kitt in the game and not just have control over one character.
