Just caught the tail end of an episode of "Galactica 1980". William Daniels guest starred (he was dressed like a clown). He was in a room with a bunch of people being interviewed by the police after a fire which was started (I think, like I said, I only caught part of it) by a Cylon. The funny part was, the guy across from Daniels started describing the Cylon to the police. They described the oscillating red light as a red wandering eye! It's pretty neat to think that only 2 years from that episode, Daniels would become intimately familiar with the "red wandering eye"!

In that episode, a Cylon ship crashes on earth carrying one standard Cylon Centurian, and a "new model" Cylon that looks exactly human. (Huh, sounds like the new BSG doesn't it?) It takes place during Halloween and William Daniels is dressed as a clown. The Cylons wind up at the party and everyone things the Centurian is just a big guy in a costume. When somebody turns on the microwave, it somehow messes up the Centurian's circuitry and it starts to spaz out; they destroy the microwave which then starts the fire.

I remember Galactica 1980. It was an attempt to bring back the BattleStar Galactica series which failed miserably, unfortunatley, according to "critics". Personall, I found it every bit as entertaining, if not more so, than the original series. The story lines were less predictable and more adventurous. But that's just my .02. I liked both series.
I haven't seen the new BattleStar Galactica series yet. It's on iTunes so I might get an episode or two to see what people are all in the air about. I don't think iTunes will be giving away a sample video of it though. I can't afford cable so iTunes, MovieLink and Cinema Now are about the only places I can catch some of these. I hope iTunes will have many more shows in the future. They are off to a good start!
I think Galactica 1980 had started before Knight Rider? But that particular episode, was it created/aired before or after Knight Rider?
Either way, it's not the first time William Daniels had a run in with a scanner other than KITT or KARR. IIRC, here in this forum there was a Sythe 2.0 he was voice of which was a Sythe with a red scanner light on it.
I bet he still gets quite a few offers for stuff like that.
