:) it would be good if the pilot episode became available in a H.D. format dvd, with the soundtrack redone in stereo( maybe using stu phillip's soundtrack cd). i would buy that.

No way would I want it in Widescreen, why?

Because it was not filmed with Widescreen in mind therefore if you cropped it into Widescreen your destroying the directors vision.

I'm personally hoping this whole blu-ray/HD dvd format doesn't take off because I personally won't throw away all my dvd's to start again!

But that subject is for another day.

You don't have to throw your DVDs away if and when the next generation DVD players arrive. Last I read, old DVDs and possibly VCDs will still play on the newer system. :)

Where Blu Ray is concerned, you need a blue laser to play them and even though I read that there maybe a player that can have a universal laser (red and blue built in one player) it would still mean for the consumer to buy a new system.

I really can't see how much better picture quality you can get from DVD's but obviously so. :?

Widescreen is still perfect for Knight Rider, plus new sound effects.
