If you were one of the 10 gazillion people watching the finale of American Idol tonight, you probably saw David Hasselhoff in the audience at the very end.

TV Squad has a writeup on Hasselhoff on Idol (not too flattering) as well as video of the appearance:

I was watching the finale also as well as taping it...I was happy to see David in the audience at the end of the show. I gotta say, it's not cool for the media to bash David just because he was emotional...I'm sure there were others there that were emotional as well. It was a very big night for these performers and everyone was excited for Taylor, so it's only natural for people to express their joy. I wish the media wasn't so picky about every single thing the stars do...they need to have more respect for them.
I was kicking myself for missing the whole 2 hours of everyone arriving on the red carpet...did anyone happen to catch that? I was hoping to see what David was saying there. I only saw parts of it on my local news. I thought he was dressed really sharp and looked great!

I think it was grest to see the Hoff in the audience, since I had watched the second half of the show to see if he was in the audience or not, and he was.
I had mainly tuned in for mere curiosity....
What's the big deal about him being emotional over Taylor Hicks' win? The media's really dumb to make a huge deal of him being emotional!
I say that he's brought a crdibility to "American Idol" that's not usually there, just by being in the audience.
I think he'd seen a part of himself within Taylor hicks, hence his emotional response, and being moved to tears after Taylor Hicks won.
