I wanted to let KRO in on some good news on one of our Foundation members good fortune.
Rob Louisell was contacted through his sources at Universal Studios about locating a KITT conversion for an upcoming National television commercial. Rob is between conversions at the moment and let Ken Roberson get the call...
Kens car is extremely nice and functional. Should look great.
The name of the company doing the commercial... A T & T.

AT&T is going to have KITT in a commerical? That's pretty cool. I just hope they don't use him to poke fun at the show. Now I'm curious as to what the commerical is going to be like.

i think a good idea would be to have someone who looks like dh as michael driving and talking to devon or someone on the video phone in KITT and they could advertise the video talk function on some phones or something like that.

This is the latest news from Rob Louisell...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ken asked me to give this up date:
His car was picked up today and is on it's way to LA. He and his wife will be flown out there on Wednesday and will be given tickets to The Tonight Show for Wednesday night. Ken has been invited to drive his car over to Jay Leno's garage next Saturday. He'd rather not drive it since it will be in the legal possession, and responsibilty of the film company. So he's asked that Leno come to him.
He has also been advised that William Daniels may be on hand for a voice over, and Patricia McPherson may also take a look at the car. That's why he asked me to type this. His hands are too shaky right now.
It's impressive that all of this has come about since they first called me last Friday night. Ken and his wife are getting an all expenses paid trip to LA, being put up in a 5 star hotel in Burbank, getting a free rental car with GPS, $60 per day for meals, Thousands of dollars for the use of KITT, tickets from Jay Leno's friend for the Tonight Show, a meeting with Leno, and possible meets with William Daniels and Patricia McPherson. That sounds like a dream vacation.
This commercial will air for 30 seconds and his car will be featured for only 5 seconds but it will be in the background for most of it. The commercial will first air during the PGA playoffs. Since I don't follow golf, I have no idea when that will be.

The PGA Tour is airing Thursday-Sunday. It seems odd to me that they would do filming and have the commercial ready for air within 2 days. If it's gonna happen like that, I hope the editors get time-and-half. I would also think Daniels would do his work in a sound studio, rather than live on set. But I'm sure Ken will explain how everything comes together.
