Bonnie's Return?

I know this much: Bonnie left FLAG after the first year to go back to school and in the meanwhile April was KITT's technician. And in Season three Micheal finds Bonnie in a lab and asks her to come and help them out.
After watching the season opener for season three I still don't completely understand how Bonnie became convinced to return to FLAG. And what happened to April, did she just leave FLAG?[/u]

Bonnie was rehired cause the fans hated april(I liked her) and paid her a good chuck of money to come back since they fired her cause she wanted Michael and her to get together and the producers said no way, your fired in long story short.

Thank you MikeMac. I was actually more interested in knowing why Bonnie (the character) chose to return to FLAG. She didn't seem to want to come back at the beginning of Knight of the Drones when Michael Knight first approaches her. At what point did she decided to come back?

i'm guessing when kitt got destroyed, she realized where here place was and realized how much she was needed there. in a sense, as a mother figure to watch over and take care kitt.

True, as well as Devin did all the talking, you can tell cause when she came out of the limo at the end she was happy, so Devon convinced her.
