It looks like it is in good shape, from 1983, original box.

Yeah I saw that. But wasn't convinced enough to buy it.

Cool. Though why a semi to race instead of KARR?

I think what I'd do is try and get two of them, so I can paint up the 2nd KITT as KARR, then have a little fun.

Have 2

I actually have 2 of these...one is my original that I bought when it first came out, the other purchased later to add to the size of the track. The problem is, the two sets are not compatible. Don't know why...
Anyway, it's lots of fun watching KITT fly around the track, even though his scanner is a steady red light.
I actually made my own 1/24th scale KITT for racing on a local track. Can't tell you how many people stop and watch as it goes around. I used the body of the R/C KITT, made my own chassis, put in fog lights and brake lights and it looks really good.

Sorry about the no link, no picture thing. I thought I had taken pictures of it when I was finished, but no such luck. I'll take a couple of digital pics and post them. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures when it was running around the track, which is when you can see the lights working. The brakes lights are cool because they come on only when you brake.
I'll post here when I get the pictures ready.

OK, here are the pictures of the slot car I made. At first glance, it looks like a SkyNet R/C car, which is because that's where I took the body from (you can buy the body alone for around $45). But if you look closely, you'll see the blue guide in the front.
Let me know what you think!

Nice! The only thing that looks wrong are the wheels...they're missing the hubcaps that KITT had.
Agreed

Yes I agree, but I couldn't get anything to stay on, unless I glued them, and I didn't want to do that.
But, believe me, when it's racing around the track, with the scanner going and the fog and brake lights, no one notices (except me!)
Thanks!
