I noticed something in Kitt vs Karr. Even in this Season 3 episode, Devon tells Michael that Karr has the same abilities as Kitt. And in almost all of the Season 1/2 episodes, Kitt gets a new gadget installed, until he's blasted to dust in Knight of the Drones and gets full upgrade from Bonnie. Aftar that, the uprades ended, they only added SPM and EBS later. The conclusion for me was that the building of Kitt was rushed, maybe because Wilton wanted to see him before his death. No wonder that Karr calls Kitt an inferior pale line copy in TDR, because Kitt IS inferior to Karr at that time (no swearing, people, I love Kitt like all of you). It seems for me that Kitt was put together in less than a month! This is why Michael "put a dent" on Kitt as Devon told him at the end of Knight of the Phoenix. Even Kitt's MBS wasn't perfect at the beginning.
What do you think, people? Am I right with my theory or is this another crazy idea of my crazy mind?

in kitt vs karr kitt would have had the new dash while karr had the old dash am i right

Well, I do have to agree that KITT's construction was rushed a bit... However, I think most of the time would have been spent during the research/development/design phases, and KITT and KARR would have shared that experience.

In other words, you could say it took 10 years to build the first space shuttle and 1 year to build the second, but that doesn't make the first one superior.

I think you've more or less nailed it. But, Devon could have also been giving Michael the "general" breakdown of the situation as a reminder. He was briefing Michael in transit, and reminded him to beware, because at least the last encounter they had, K.I.T.T. and K.A.R.R. relatively did have the same capabilities.

right, in reality, that part was put in to talk to the audience for those who never seen the first one. Many people come into a show half way, like I got into american idol from season 2, so many people probably never seen "trust doesn't rust" wierd name I might add for that episode, and if you are seeing karr for the first time, you know were he came from because of that "reminder" strickly for the audience, not for Michael, he knows all about Karr.
