Near the bottom at #48, right before HAL 9000. (but we all know he's #1 in our books, right? ;))
The smooth-talking, self-driving muscle car from the early '80s TV drama Knight Rider was so cool, it even upstaged David Hasselhoff. The success of this Trans-Am helped to usher in a new genre of show with supervehicles as heroes, from Airwolf to Stealth.

Glad to see KITT still recognized. :)

I'm not at all shocked that Stanley made #1. But they should have put Asimo in there not just as a mere mention of it's predecessor P2. The latest Asimo is definitely really awesome!

I hope Stanley runs in the 2006 DARPA (I assume they will have it again this year?)

I'd seen other shows with robots, but I think KITT's still a good favorite of mine, since KITT is both a car and a robot, as it were, even if the robot part of KITT was mainly a computer.
Uh, so were the other robots featured in the list.... :kittconv:  8)
