Hoff and KITT reunion

Not sure if this report has been published on here or not, but thought it was interesting all the same.
IT was the world's smartest car and he was the slickest man on television.

Fast forward 20 years and the retro super stud David Hasselhoff was yesterday reunited in Sydney with KITT, the artificially intelligent Trans-Am with which he fought crime as Michael Knight on Knight Rider.

"Michael, we're in the wrong country," the Hoff, in character as Knight yelled to himself as he realised the replica model wasn't left-hand drive like the US original.

"That's actually the first one I've seen that's right-hand drive."

As he met a handful of fully fledged Hoff fanatics, the visiting ex-Baywatch budgie smuggler proponent told Confidential the Australian version of the infamous talking car – fitted out by Knight Rider nut Rod Unsworth _ was one of the best he had seen.

"I've seen about 22 of these over the years, all over the place," the Hoff said.

"The best one I ever saw was in Holland."

The Hoff – the world's most watched TV star according to the Guinness Book of World Records _ was in hot demand yesterday.

In between interviews he fitted in more preparations for his appearances at Sunday's ARIAs and the Foxtel 10th birthday bash.

He's set to be a star attraction at both events – it's Hofficial.

Now is it just me, or does KITT look like he's been digitally added in that shot? Either way it looks fab all the same.

Yeah, it definitely looks airbrushed. No surprise there as it's common with magazine pictures. I also noticed this replica doesn't have the cowl induction hood. The nose also looks exactly the same as the supposed "screen used" car that was on eBay recently...

Hey, at least you can find one. I live in the US, and all the ones I have found are either '00 to '02 or '85 to '89. and they look like they just got done playing tag with a tree.

I hear your problem!!
Are you looking to buy one with in australia or can you consider to import?
There are allot of them in US of course.
But you can also find some in Germany, and there are quit allot here in Sweden. These cars are getting old and with all those problems that means but here they are also quit cheap. I also know of some in the UK.

I hope this helps

David KITT & music video

Hi Everyone, Ive just returned from Sydney where filming was done for Davids music video. You probably know the song is "Jump in my car" it was a hit here in Aus back in the 70s. The Shoot took a lot longer than expected. It was supposed to wrap at midnite, it took until 7am the following morning to finish. A lot of the crew and David had other commitments the next day so we had to keep going until it was done.
I wont give away the gag at the end of the clip but Im sure youll get a laugh when you see it. Im not sure if its going to be a chart topper, or even if the radio stations will add it to there playlists but its a good fun song, and hes added a couple of ab libs with a reference to KITT.
After driving back home with KITT (600miles) Im now going to jump in my bed and get some catch up sleep.

Congrats on a job well done - to all of you. :) I hope somehow us folks in the states will get to see it (and your KITT too). I bet KITT was glad to be home for a rest as well. :)

Was the car used in most of the video or just in a short cameo?

I bet you're on cloud 9 right now. :)

The car was a big part of the music video, not just a small cameo. Im sure you guys in the states will be able to get your hands on a copy without to much trouble. :)

(to rhdaussiekitt )I know what you mean....
(To Peter)
But money is not a problem.... It is finding one that still runs that is. My Dad told me that if I can find one and it only had <b> MINOR</b> problems, that he would fix it up for me, maybe even get it for me has a graduation and good luck in college present. And a import... maybe, if there was a website that I can check out....

Hi aussie.kitt and welcome to the forums.. I have actually purchased a couple of large A4 sized prints from that photoshoot that was posted above.. They look pretty good and i'm just in the process of find a frame for them.. Also, is this you? :P

I too looked into buying a trans-am and have run into the same problem of them costing too much to make the journey worth while.. I reckon it would be better to import a junker from the states and restore it from the ground up, making the purchase of the initial car cheaper and then appreciating the workmanship that would go into it.. The only trans-am that i've seen was around locally the other day. It was white.

Regards
Adam

IF you find a Trans Am and import it from the US. I WILL hunt you down and take your car and export it back(That is after you fix it up). I live in the US and I can't find near where I live (or even in my state for that matter.) that still runs or has not been gutted for parts.... SH*T!!!!!!! All the one I have found look like they play tag with a tree and lost, or they are not the right year.... (see my post above)

*end of rant*
