Ok, all you budding impressionists, mimics and impersonators, here's a challenge for ya!

Can you do KITT?

All it took was the Sound Recorder accessory in Windows, and a bit of tinkering with the sound file,
using the same app! I converted it to MP3 format using the encoding feature available in iTunes.

Well, it's hard to tell because it's so distorted. Is there a way you could get a cleaner MP3 of that? or even just give a link to the wav file? Sometimes converting from wav to MP3 alone can distort things pretty bad.

FWIW, I could never attempt to do KITT. But, I remember when I was a kid I did a great impression of the Sweedish Chef from The Muppet Show. In fact, my mother came running into the living room thinking it was on TV or something and was amazed it was only me. No, I'm not going to post that impersonation though. I don't even know if I can do it anymore.

Actually, the WAV version sounds exactly the same. I made it sound that way, so that it has
a bit more of that authentic (and somewhat slightly tinny) electronic sound of KITT's voice.

The encoder built in with iTunes isn't actually bad for a freebie. As far as I can tell, iTunes
encodes WAV's to MP3 as well as any encoder app that you'd have to pay about $30 for.

Try dbPowerAmp. They have a version you can use for free I believe and it does good. You'll need the Lame encoder though but that's not hard to set up, really.

Listening to it again it IS close. But there is a lot of static/popping in the sound so if that was cleaned up, it would be a lot better, I think.

Just my .02. But you DO sound quite close to William Daniel's voice.

Ever thought of doing clips and posting them for people's replicas or AI projects? If I had a way to make TTS voices for speach recognition systems, I think you'd be a good candidate for a KITT-type voice.
