K.A.R.R.'s Two-Tone Paint Job

When did he get it? You'd think that, if they didn't explain it, that someone in the episode at least would have said SOMETHING about it, but it didn't seem to register with anyone. Why do you think K.A.R.R. had it done? I'll tell you one thing, that paint job on a Firebird looks AWESOME!!! He looks WAAAAAAAY cooler than K.I.T.T. with that paint job on his Molecular Bonded Shell.

KARR did mention it to his new driver (forgot the name). I remember that in the episode 'KITT vs KARR', KARR mentioned that he wanted a new look among other things.

That wasn't in the episode.

KARR did talk about altering his appearance....but only in the non syndicated version. It occours right after John parks KARR in the garage in back of the marina after they escape from Michael and KITT. I finally got to see this "deleted scene" about a year ago when TV Land aired the episode after their top 10 TV cars special. I taped it on the outside chance the deleted scenes would be included and to my surprise they were!

Are the "deleted for syndication" scenes included in the KR DVD's? For Star Trek, when that was syndicated, a lot of the scenes were cut for time. However, when they were released on video, and then DVD, the scenes were back in there. Is/will this also the case with Knight Rider?

It should be. Both season 1 and 2 episodes are shown in their entirety.

Awesome!! I've always wanted to see more K.A.R.R. scenes, and especially one about his paint job...I can't wait for the 3rd Season to be released!!

Hey there, KOPP! I was wondering where you ran off to. That scene will probably be included. I can’t wait for season 3 either. Since I’m missing half the episodes.

Odd. The syndication here in Canada kept that part in every airing. I even have that episode taped.

Hey!! It's nice to know that someone missed me!! How are you doing? And I just noticed you live in PA...I'm moving there, to Reading, where I was originally born. Where are you in PA?

Doing good.

I'm pretty far from Reading. Up in McKean county, in a small town about 60 miles East of Erie. I've never been to your part of the state before.
(edit: Sorry meant to say East. Don't you love my sense of direction?lol)

well, i thought that was the new look KARR wanted from his driver...to have that two tone paint job. other wise i have no clue what KARR looked before hand, unless KARR wanted to be pure black like KITT.
but im not very familiar with any of the KARR scenes, heh, so forgive me if im waaay wrong lol.

Season 3 will answer all our questions and since Kitt vs Karr is so popular, this extra scene will make it so much better!

You know, they had a lot of interesting info in the KR book "Trust Doesn't Rust". I wish they had made a book for every ep, including KvK. It would have been interesting to read a KvK one.

I wish I could read the "Trust Doesn't Rust" book!! Where can you get it? Is it rare? Would eBay have it, by any chance?

The books are hard to find. I have the first three of the series of 5 they put out. I got mine in Amazon.com's used books area (where others outside of Amazon sell used books, etc.) The books were in fair condition and very much readable. I've seen occasionally some KR novels on eBay but not too many.
Keep your eyes open.
BTW, Trust Doesn't Rust is Novel #2 (red book) in the series. Knight of the Phoenix (Pilot) is #1 (black book). I think Mirror Image is #3 (I know it's a blue book, but too lazy to go dig it out and look at the actual title.)

Okay, dude!! eBay, here I come!!

Hearts of Stone is #3.
I have 1-3, I got on ebay fairly cheap because they came in a lot with a buttload of A-Team and Miami Vice books.
I'd give my eye-teeth for Mirror Image.

But haven't seen it anywhere within a reasonable price-range.

Fantine - Thanks!

You saved me from becoming un-lazy and looking it up.

I know I have two more to get so Mirror Image must be one of them I have to get yet.

There's no way I'm selling my copy. I love that book and it's a part of my already small KR collection. I don't want it to get any smaller, but I did a quick search and found a bunch of copies on sale at amazon.com. Here is the link.

Hope I could help

No problem.
My copies are wearing out from love....but they are still very much readable...and Trust Doesn't Rust has puffy Knight Rider stickers from the 80's in the front cover.

A little bonus there, lol.
