it sounds farfetched but is it not possible to just install some battery powered thing in the die cast 1/18 that makes the back wheels spin and turns the front wheels? cause it would be so cool and must be possible. :?:

They did have a radio-controlled KITT several years back, but I only saw it one time.
As for your question, I think making the die-cast into a radio-controlled KITT would destroy the resale value of the model. I suppose it could be done if they (ERTL) used a plastic body for KITT. That might be a good way to sell more KR merchandise.

Yea, as a matter of fact I have one and it's pretty cool! Its made by Tyco R/C but in Japan only, you can find them on ebay, usually no more than $50-$60

If only they still make them... :( I would be very happy to chase my parent's dog and cat around their house with KITT.

I used to have it... The scanner is just a flat red light though... No scanner action... After a while the RC spoilt and I just play with the KITT on its own... I think I threw it away already...

Diecast RC? I didn't know such things existed. But if I were to purchase one, I would get the plastic bodied RC. It is lighter and it won't drain the battery too much. And the car goes faster too and absorbs shocks better.

A little paint job, a new interior, a front nose & scanner.....
it just might work.

Hello everyone, just found the site today and registered. Great board!!
The reason I found this site is because I have been searching for the past few days/weeks for a GMC Semi (F.L.A.G. mobile unit) without success. I have a couple of KITT models and just ordered the one with the ejector seat/grappel from E-bay. I
WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP you guys could offer to help me get one.....

Hello sputnix, welcome to KRO!

The FLAG semi is really a sought after piece of memorabilia. I guess ebay is still the best place to look for one since no toy manufacturer out there sells them in stores nowadays. You just have to be patient and have the money on hand in case they pop up on the auction block. And when it does, have your wallet ready.
