Is there a place in New York where KR DVD's can be bought, or is the only option ordering them from Colombia house?

Hey there, first of all welcome to the board. As far as a KR dvd goes, i kinda like ebay, even though their available from CH. I actually got a very nice deal for one, so if you feel its safe buying from ebay, go for it. Of course theres the risk involved with the auction, but in the end if you find a reputable seller, you should be fine.

Good Luck

As for KR DVD's, there is only one for the U.S. and three from the UK, the one from the U.S. comes from CH, who aren't consistent with delivering the things, and the UK ones need a universal region DVD player.

Columbia House now has at least 2 DVDs. "Knight of the Phoenix" on one, and "Trust Doesn't Rust" & Just My Bill" on the other. Someone mentioned a 3rd CH DVD, but I think that might have actually been from Universal Playback (European).

actually, on eBay this evening, I found a DVD supposedly from CH and is region 1 and is the 3rd (???) DVD in their series, featuring "Chariot of Gold" and "Nobody Does It Better." Naturally I bid on it and hopefully it's authentic and I'll win it!

Thanks. I'm not much of an internet shopping fan, but as someone I know is going to the US I kinda hoped he can just go into a shop and buy a KR DVD.

I guess not :(

Anybody know if Universal are launching a fourth disc in the UK?

Trust Doesn't Rust
KITT Vs KARR
Goliath

would be my ideal disc. :D

Just in case they're reading this...

Sorry. It's not a high enough demand for a standard store to handle it.

Alright, if a store can't handle it, the next question is:

What is the better option in terms of net ordering? Columbia house or Blackstar (mainly in terms of what you actually get. I saw people here talking about unedited stuff, extra scenes, etc... There's nothing I hate more than an episode which lost a couple of scenes just so he can fit into a 45 minute segment!).

Ok, let's see....

CH and Universal Playback both offer uncut episodes. They don't have extras, they just have the uncut episodes.

CH is the United States distributor, and they have slightly different (I think) episodes than Universal Playback does. Blackstar is just a distributor for Universal Playback.

The U.S. and UK also have different playing formats, which also presents a slight problem if you have an older player.

So basically, both are great deals, for different episodes that meet your needs.

Before you ask, no, I don't have too much clue about DVDs. Do they have different formats for those as well?

Anyhow, from what I saw, I can't actually order from CH to Israel, so I guess it's Universal/Black Star for me. Universal also seems to have more episodes on DVD than CH. From a JPG file that was in an older tread here, CH only released Knight of the Phoenix on DVD.

I have two Columbia House DVD's. Knight of the Phoenix on 1 and Deadly Maneuvers and Slammin Sammy's Stunt show on the other.

I made that file. It's already out of date.

Yes, DVDs come in different formats. If you don't know much about DVDs, then you should only order the Region 2 DVD from Black Star. You can get DVD players that are "multi-region" or SOMETIMES use your computer to play the different DVDs, but if it's not something you're familiar with I wouldn't take the risk.

Shoot, who needs a DVD?
