Hello All
I am working on a TV documentary about television from the 1980s. I would love to include some of the best 'moments/clips from Knight Rider but unfortunately I don't know it that well. I'm looking for something from the early days, perhaps even the first episode. Can anyone make any suggestion?

if you're asking for classic moments why are u wanting us to stick to early episodes or the first one even? as the series went on we got more and more memorable moments, ones that would really show off the show! you're limiting it's scope by requesting early eps only...

a good moment on the pilot episode is when Michael Gets his first ride with kitt, going to investigate the comtron, and then Kitt says "What music do you want to listen? (sorry my traduction, im spanish xD), and michael gets angry and the last thing he says is... One Car who talks...

The most memorable moment was in "The Scent Of Roses." It was so sad! I cried. 
The most touching part was when MIchael said "Goodbye Kitt" So sad, So sad!

You could show a montage of turbo boosts and other assorted stunts from the show, which would come out great.
if you are talking sequences then:
kitt's scanner in the darkness from the pilot as michael looks at it
same with karr's in 'trust doesnt rust'
kitt and karr heading for one another in turbo boost mode in 'kitt vs karr'
randy controlling kitt by his PC in soul survivor
michael and kitt meeting for the first time when kitt first speaks in the Pilot
michael losing his memory and kitt having to chase him down the street from 'knightmares'
the big turbo boost in the dam from 'knightmares' toward the end
kitt's Super Pursuit Mode...footage from that in season 4
kitt's collision with Goliath in 'Goliath'
kitt's jump over the lake in 'good day at white rock'
michael being shot in the face in the pilot
there is a lot more....

the knightmares boost at the end?! why? you could see the ramp clearly and the models sucked i thought in that one, especially the landing. i agree with most of your other points though, especially goliath
stevie getting shot and killed is a great moment (no, i'm not sick!) to include, no fans will forget that!
the one-line put-downs and comments between Michael and KITT, especially in the early days are priceless too!

the ramp is visible to the viewer that's watched em a million times like us but IMO, i don't think it's noticeable to the general viewer. after all, it's a very quick take off shot.

The best "Knight Rider" moments for me are a bit different. Here they are:
The FLAG team not-so-easily outsmarting a crook named Carascas
Michael and KITT not so easily outsmarting garthe Knight and his truck more than once.
Michael letting his guard down in the "Scent of Roses" and paying a huge price.
Michael and KITT getting Julio Rodrigues to the hospital in time to save their young friend Becky's life, despite some dangerous obstacles.
Michael and KITT's first mission together in "Knight of the Phoenix"
Bonnie Barstow coming back to FLAG eventually in "Knight of the Drones", after finding out that her mentor was a crook.
Michael's not-so-friendly reunion with his police partner, Detective Courtney, in the episode "Knights in the Fast Lane".
Michael's 'in the lion's den'-like meeting with the FLAG board of directors in the episode "Knight of the Juggernaut".
And finally, for now, the R&B group New Edition guest-starring in the episode "Knight Song".

Any images from Knight Rider are memorable to me. I have them burned into my mind. Come to think of it, I'd like an image of KITT burned into my forehead as well.
