Bad News: KR off Sci-Fi in July

Pavanbadal mentioned this in another thread (
http://knightrideronline.com/phpbb/view ... hp?p=51919), but as it is important information, it should really have its own.
It looks like Knight Rider will only be on Sci-Fi for the month of June. No matter, pretty soon we'll have the DVDs, and what would be the point of watching syndicuts?
Effective, Monday, June 28:
What's back: Roswell and Quantum Leap
What's gone: Knight Rider, X-Files, Incredible Hulk,
and The Sentinel
Changes listed ONLY
8:00AM Daytime Rotation (replaces THE SENTINEL)
9:00AM Daytime Rotation (replaces Knight Rider)
10:00AM Daytime Rotation (replaces The Sentinel)
(So 3 extra hours of the Daytime Rotation, now from
8am-4pm)
4:00PM Roswell (replaces The Incredible Hulk)
5:00PM Sliders (replaces The X-Files)
2:00AM Quantum Leap (replaces X-Files)

lol @ comets78...
I guess it was almost too good to be true. But I'm not that disappointed; afterall, we are getting them on DVD, uncut and in even better quality, we just gotta be patient. 'Til then I'm gonna enjoy this reason to wake up in the morning

Yes, first season has only been confirmed for Region 1, Deferranfan1... just going on the idea that once one is released they will continue. And when the time comes that all Seasons are released, what would be the point of caring which channel is airing a hacked up version of the episode.

I'm realizing more and more that even the DVD box set will never completely replace the enjoyment of watching Knight Rider on broadcast. I already have all the episodes on tape and many on DVD, but it's great coming home and having a new episode waiting for you on your TiVo. You can just bring it up, speed through to the good parts if you want and get a quick daily dose of the 80s. Yes, you could come up and stick in a DVD every night, but with the disc-loading time and the FBI warning it's just not the same.

So you'd rather watch an inferior quality product, with scenes missing, than wait a minute to get through the disc loading and the FBI warning? Yea, that makes sense.

This is the difference... If I want to watch Trust Doesn't Rust, I'll pop in a DVD and watch it. But chances are I'm going to watch Forget Me Not once on DVD, then won't choose to watch it again for quite a while.
Put another way: even with my current set of DVDs and tapes, I did not watch an episode of Knight Rider every single day. But when it's on sci-fi, at the very least I will scan through that day's episode.

Mike, what do you mean scan through it? You mean, even though you have it on tape, you still tape that day's airing and go through to the best bits or come home and watch that episode for the day?
Anyway, with either answer, I still find it hard to believe that a syndicate edited airing is better than a dvd version. but that's just me.

I think he means the feelings not the same. It's just somthing you can look forward too. I know I was looking forward to it. Putting in the DVD despite the quality, it's the feeling from it that counts.

I don't tape the daily episodes, I TIVO the daily episodes. If you haven't used TiVo, you won't understand. I don't have to put in a tape or DVD, the episode is simply "there" as a digital file for me to scan through.
And again, I never said watching a broadcast episode is better overall than a DVD. What I'm saying is that having the DVD soes not eliminate the need or desire to have the episodes on sci-fi.

I feel the same way Mike, since I also have TiVo, it's way easier...
I wish TiVo was more affordable, so everyone would see their TVs in a whole new light! It's too bad that it has not developed overseas as well! They must have some type of DVR overseas though?
Many Sony computers come with Giga Pocket recording, so that would be an alternative if you hooked your PC up to your TV. And then there has been Windows XP Media Center Edition for awhile now, which is similar to TiVo, but not half as friendly...
