i think this may make a good starting point for somebody even though it needs a fair amount of work, most K.I.T.T replica builders myself included would strip a car right back and fully restore it then and only then can you think about putting in all the exras that make it K.I.T.T.
You may need to remind yourself that these cars are over 20 years old now and any you pick up will need something doing even the highly priced ones so i think calling the seller a jerk is out of order. he has been very honest with the cars condition and started at a low price to give us budgeted K.I.T.T builders a chance. Also if you re read the advert you should realise that he has only drove it a few times after purchase so it is very likely it was in this state before he recieved it.

No it was not.. The most powerfull engine in the 3rd gens were
the 3.8L V6 Turbo Charged in the 1989 Turbo Trans Am edition.
It is the same motor as what the Buick Regal GNX had. It's to bad
that GM only used that motor for one year in the Trans Am's.
It was a good strong reliable engine. I would personaly have one
of those installed into my KITT car.. Only if I could get my hands
on one...

I always thought the L98 (5.7L 90?-92) was the most powerfull 3rd gen engine. The TTAs had that much power?
