Nope, not a fan fic challenge, more of a plot bunny breeding ground.

Let me pose a question to all of you. (you can write a story if you want, but you will want to put it on a website to conserve space here.)

What do you think happened to April? In your mind, how did the Foundation give her the boot when Bonnie returned? A few sentences will do, if you choose, just curious to see what everybody has imagined.

I'd like to see her come back, working for a bad guy, or perhaps one herself, with a plan to take over/destroy KITT, and get revenge on Bonnie, the person who rejected all her innovations, thinking they were irrelevant.

There is a wee bit of a fan fic on that, it's a bit graphic, and is rated NC-17, but if you want to get a bit of an idea of what that is sorta like try Xtasy by Asp

I always thought April took the job knowing that it's just one year contract becouse Bonnie was studying or something.
I haven't thought about what happened to April afterwards but maybe she took some other job where she could use her cybernetic technician skills [img]images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

Only one problem with that:

In Knight of the Drones, Bonnie reluctantly came back to the Foundation. She had no intention of coming back it seemed, or at least that soon.

Nah...she was learning at a uni i thought hence Knight of the drones...her teacher Dr. David Halston who betrays her.

This is an interesting thought... In the first ep with Karr he was promising to protect his "fiends" when the thugs went joy riding with him. I think prihaps who ever built him made him 'snap'. It could have been April. She may have driven him nuts taking out her anger for the foundation.

Just a thought.

April had nothing to do with KARR, at all. If she did, why would she go and leave him out in the sand where he would be damaged?

Like I said, he snaped. Prihaps he ran....er... drove for his life. She went to far. Karr excaped. In the begining he was like Kitt, with just the one flaw, but now he had been missunderstood, abused, and endangered. What else could he have done?

Uh, KARR never got a chance to be anywhere near April. They thought he was destroyed at the bottom of a cliff at the end of Trust Doesn't Rust. He was found at the same cliff in the beginning of KITT Vs. KARR.

There is fan fic, and then there is crapping all over the original series. The latter is not a smooth thing to do.

Except how do you explain KITT Vs. KARR? Eh?

Or are you saying that after KITT Vs. KARR she went out to the river bed, and found the parts of the car, and rebuilt him? (That would work.)

Personally it narked a bit with me that they didn't explain April coming in or leaving (well, the leaving part mostly). I like the "one year contract" thing that someone said earlier. Sounds the most plausible argument so far.

I have a book of the "Mouth of the Snake" episode. At the end of the book Devin reveals to Micheal that April is Devins daughter!

Has anyone else heard of this? I don't recal it ever being mentioned in the show, but the book is baed on the original script before it was edited for the show.

i think, IF april was devons daughter, she would have had a really good reason to be angry about the foundation, when he gave her the boot...

Sometimes, extra dramatic license was added to the books, not what the screen writers had intended. It was never mentioned on the show, and therefore not considered canon very much. It throws an interesting twist, but...there was nothing to back it up.

The same book gives the reason for Bonnie's departure as her and Michael falling in love and her not being able to cope with him constantly being in danger (not to mention the bimbo of the week) which always put the book's veracity in doubt, for me anyway.

Prihaps she was given the one year contract and hooked up with Micheal. When she wanted another year Devon gave her the boot because of there secret. Angered and deeply hurt she went and got all the parts to rebuild Karr. Only he got away from her.
