searching for a certain fan fic

I'm looking for a certain fan fic that must have been posted here about 5 or so years ago. It was about 2 guys, perhaps in college who were doing some research at a Knight Industries Museum for very old technology relating to the 80's. They discovered 2 small metal plates that were supposed to be resistant to fire and cool to the touch and a computer board that when they got working, started repeating the last few sentences it heard from the 2 friends then said hello to them after cycling through the 2 friends phrases similar to a computer running through a vocabulary system. I'd also love to know if it ever had a follow up past those few pages of what seemed like an amazing story of the return of kitt.
