kitt scanner sound strangest place

I've recently purchased the entire series of smallville on ebay and noticed the strangest place I've ever found kitt's scanner sound. Season 2 season finale when Clark's ship AI speaks in his biological father's voice, you see the ship rotate and glow and hear kitt's scanner sound. Anyone notice this when the series first aired?
