The Night KITT Saved Christmas

Here is a bizarre but oddly catchy Christmas rap from 1983. Enjoy!

The night was cold, the story’s told
On that fateful Christmas eve
Snow so high it would be July
Before it’d all unfreeze
Santa Claus can’t wait to pause
He had to make that flight
The reindeer sailed but the wind prevailed
And the sleigh went down that night
The darkest moment ever known
Would be if children, some young, some grown
On christmas morning woke to see
Not a single present beneath the tree
The night KITT saved Christmas
Through the desert hills far from winter’s chills
Stirred the Knight Rider and KITT
They heard the S.O.S. “Michael, Santa’s in distress”
“We’ve got to get him out of it”
“Channel 4 degrees east by northeast
And Michael, we’ve no time to spare”
Pedal to the floor KITT’s engine roared
Turbo boost into the air!
The darkest moment ever known
Would be if children, some young, some grown
On christmas morning woke to see
Not a single present beneath the tree
The night KITT saved Christmas
“Michael, I’m picking up a signal”
“KITT, give me a close-up of that snowbank over there”
“Looks like I’ve found our man”
A thousand gifts lay atop the drifts
Poor Santa far below
KITT pulled back prepared to attack
And blasted through the snow
Hooked the sleigh and they were on their way
KITT in Rudolph’s place
They made the rounds through every town
Put a smile on every face
The darkest moment ever known
Would be if children, some young, some grown
On christmas morning woke to see
Not a single present beneath the tree
But the darkest moment never came
Because KITT and Michael well they saved the day
That Christmas morning, dawn clear and bright
No tricks or trouble after the night
The night KITT saved Christmas
“Michael, this isn’t exactly Foundation business. How are you going to justify the expense?”
“Don’t you worry about Devon. After all, this is Christmas. And besides, you’re having a great time.”
“Great time? You call towing a herd of a reindeer and a fat man in a red suit a great time? Really. Michael.”
“Listen KITT, just try to think about the smiles on those children’s faces when they wake up tomorrow morning.”
“I’ll never understand this human sentimentality.”
