KARR and the 1982 Trans Am

My understanding is that the '82 was the first third generation (with that general appearance) - is that correct? If so, when was KARR built? If it was early enough then did Wilton Knight get the look from Pontiac or did he just send them his design?

According to Trust Doesn't Rust, the first appearence of karr,Devon states that karr was activated 6 months before Michael was found in the desert.We can only guess that with new cars coming out around 6 months ahead of the new year that Wilton bought a few before 82.
