Hasselhoff and his renewed Knight Rider Movie passion

If you've been paying attention to Hasselhoff in the news recently, he's been mentioning the Knight Rider movie quite often. As long term fans of Knight Rider, and this site, we know that this is nothing new. However it could be an interesting discussion to have here to chat about everyones feelings on the likelihood of this happening this time.
Last we left the saga, Glen A. Larson sold the film rights to The Weinstein Company back in '08 with the plans to write and produce it (http://www.movieweb.com/news/the-weinst ... ider-movie" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). We know that several rewrites/drafts have happened since, but the project has effectively stalled for unknown reasons.
Enter Hoff. Definately been the face of Knight Rider for eons - in recent interviews he's commented on how he brought the Knight Rider idea to NBC and they cut him out, and that's why it failed. In promoting Piranha 3DD, which is produced by The Weinstein's arm at Dimension, where he is specifically saying he took this roll in good faith to get the movie going. (see summary of his Howard Stern interview here: http://www.dhasselhoff.net/blog/?p=4196" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Curious to hear everyones thoughts on this activity. I'm always hopefully optimistic - and hoping the community does the same. We've been promised this alot, and I know alot of us feel burned by the NBC series still. But positive activity here can help in an indirect way to show the Weinsteins that Knight Rider is still a viable property, with the 30th anniversary here it's certainly about time!
