Where's Karr's name really came from

Anyone ever wonder where they got the footage from for Karr's destruction in Trust Doesn't Rust?Well I was browsing through newtflix streaming videos for some good horror flicks and one caught my attention with the simple title "The Car".Filmed in 1977 its about an evil sedan with yellow tinted windows(Probably where they got the color for his voice modulator leds too) that goes around killing people.He drives off the end of a mountain which is why the shape of karr in Trust Doesn't Rust doesn't make sense for a pontiac firebird.
