Scent of Roses question

At 29 minutes 40 seconds of the episode Michael asks kitt to transfer the image of the guy directly over him to another channel to compute the reflectory angles and get an image of the man off the breifcase.Why doesn't he just ask kitt to rewind the episode to 29 min 30 seconds to see this image where he can clearly see the face from a front view?
