Why wasn't Bonnie in the 2nd season? And why was April suddenly gone in the 3rd?

Interesting question, as it was never explained in the series. We know the real-life reasons, but there was no fictional explanation... Very good question indeed...

i agree also they never really had a explanation for this in the story line but all we know is that bonnie left for a university then was talked into comming back by michael and devon in knight of the drones. they never said why april left after season 2.

As the opener of season three, Bonnie was supposed to be furthering her studies at that University where Michael
convinced her to return.
The part about April of course made no such explanation & that is a source of some disappointment
at least as far as Im concerned.

I hated how they just threw April at us and just as fast,they never explained her leaving just as if it went from season 1 to season 3 with no technician.
