Can the cast be recovered if they move to other projects?

For what I read Deanna Russo is already working on other projects as well as all the other cast members and very well might end as regulars in other shows. If this happens and we manage to save the show and the actors are already working ful time elsewhere how does that work> Just curious! I hope this show can be saved I really do...
