It is a JCW scanner. It uses 9volt bulbs. The effect is 'ok'. There is no real trailing effect. The bulb size is that of Christmas tree light bulbs. I had one for about a year. (sigh) You get what you pay for.

Yes, Taoworm, you do get what you pay for, so I'm sure the more expensive units are much better. This unit was something I could justify buying as a want. I'm not critisizing you, but you do need to remember, we each have our own budget to work with. I think it's absolutly awesome that you had the money to be able to get KI3T's double light bar for $4 grand.

Yeah man, I watched your scanner at night vid with my sunglasses on.

Yeah a UFO landed last night and told me turn that damn thing off. I think the scanner was brighter than the UFO.

Yeah you might have to watch out for things like that, any aircraft for that matter. You cant really blame them though, I'm sure they may be confusing it with landing lights
