Where did KITT get his fear of flying in this one if as Devon said, he had never flown? It hasn't been mentioned in past episodes that I''ve seen.

Bonnie or April programmed him to be naturally afraid of flying being as he is a car.
Obviously there should have been a more deeper reason but I don't know.

Bonnie programmed Kitt's fear of flying, because she had the same phobia. Michael mentioned it in 'Sky Knight', I think.

But 'diamonds arent a girls best friend' is a season 2 episode so it could lead me to believe it was april who programmed him or unless he had this programming from season 1 in which case bonnie woulda done it.

Bonnie was supposedly involved with Kitt's programming from the very beginning, so yes, she was the one who programmed Kitt's fear of flying. I doubt if April had access to Kitt's core programming.

Well, she took over Bonnie and she made improvements and modifications so i am sure she had access to everything of kitt's.
She could have just programmed him to be afraid of flying as a decision she made her own and bonnie sort of just agreed to it there after and left it alone.
who knows?

When KITT was built the first time Bonnie was present, April was not. Just because you help maintain a computer doesn't mean you built and/or programmed it.

i know that, i am just saying that for that particular episode or perhaps season, april changed kitt's programming to him being afraid of flying for whatever reason she had and perhaps bonnie stuck with it.
or...yeah, there is the more probable chance that bonnie just programmed him in the first place to do that.
anyways, bonnie's exact words are in sky knight: "he was programmed to be afraid of flying"....in that context, it strikes me that she didn't actually program him for that. someone else did!

If I remember correctly, the very next line is from Michael who says:
That's because you programmed him.
So, Bonnie was the one who programmed him to be afraid of flying.

That was my point. Just because the programming wasn't mentioned until season 2 doesn't mean Bonne didn't put it in there and it lain dormant. Thanks KI
