Does anyone have the sound file of KITT's new scanner sound effect?

Or just the original in good quality? Anyone?

I don't have a file for the sound effect, but isn't it the same sound as the scanner from the original series?

The use of the scanner sound, by the way, is something I think the new series got wrong, because it makes the sound effect 24/7 whereas classic K.I.T.T.'s only went off when he scanned something.

Dang. Does anyone else? By the way, I think you're right, but somehow it seems to make a different sound while in attack mode. I was looking for both.

Did anyone notice when Kitt crashed into Karr the turbo boost "sound" we all know and love was back? It's hard to hear it but listen close enough when he crashed it was there. I just can't find the video from youtube that has that part and the sound is loud. Re-watch the scene and you will hear it.

The episode does'nt have the sound effect.

I know the vid your referring too, it was made by our very own Taoworm23 who coincedentally made another turbo boost vid with the original sound effect in, makes all the difference. Why they never used that sound or re-created something similar is beyond me.

A clear version of the scanner is not easy to come by mate theres not many instances in the show were the scanner sound was playing that did'nt have some type of background noise, the sound quality on the dvd's are'nt that great either and tryin to grab one from new KR is even harder with all the other effects going on, even the one from the Davilex Knight Rider game has some hiss in it.

Because I felt like a bit of a meany by uploading my so called Kitt scanner sound HQ which was a joke and is basically a weeezly version of a RickRoll, which incedently had 100's of downloads of it, that made me giggle

Ive decided to try and make a nice clean version in my sound editing software but this in itself has some drawbacks, cutting hiss also loses treble and clarity which gives the scanner sound "its bite" one thing that I'm trying is running it through various filters/plug ins to add some meat to it. When I've made a nice clean version of it I'll upload it here.

You know, I wish they kept the pilot's scanner sound for the new KITT, it was more fitting and would have let it instantly be identified with that KITT.

Thats just a sound that was added to get that "woo factor" for the teaser. The actual pilot scanner sound is in that wav that i posted. It was ripped from the pilot itself!

Taoworm, that scanner sound is AWESOME. Man, I almost wish they'd used that for KARR....it sounds so menacing! It's actually kind of scary. It makes the car sound more like it's a really large tank or something. If I was in a dark warehouse and I heard KI3T's current scanner, I'd think it was weird, but I don't think I'd freak out. If I heard this sound, though, I'd probably *?$# my pants.

I think I remember hearing this in the pilot - when KI3T first activates in the garage, there's this low buzzing sound as his scanner comes on. I suppose that sound was this...

Yeah since I have the 'old' KITT (in a KR2000 red body) I wanted to keep the original scanner sound for him, but the KI3T Mustang I have I wanted to be more menacing as he was in the pilot. The original pilot was supposed to make KI3T more menacing. Like he would eat you up in a small alleyway.

GarthKnight08 was right by the way though. The sound they ended up using on the pilot was ALLOT more high pitched. I looped his audio but with the turbine noise that's going in my Mustang KI3T its really hard to tell whats his turbine engines noise and whats his scanner.. So I am just gonna stick to the promo sound. It's more menacing to me. (Without being too much like KARR)

If you turn the volume up really loud, there's a sound that's similar to the old turbo boost, but its very hard to discern. It's masked by the sound of the crash and explosion too, so it may be a bit of an anomaly. I wouldn't say that they brought back the original turbo boost sound though.

The also didn't bring back the original sound of KI2T's turbine engine (the high pitched whine) - KI3T has the rumble of a muscle car. I'm kind of glad actually. I like the fact that KI3T is similar to but uniquely different from KI2T.
