Back at the Comic Con, GST told us that he wanted to goto Hawaii to film an episode. Turns out he got his wish as they were in Oahu over the weekend filming!

NBC’s Knight Rider series will film two days on Oahu - Oct. 25 and 26 - all on the North Shore and primarily at the Turtle Bay Resort where cast and the Los Angeles crew will be staying. The iconic 1980s television series that starred David Hasselhoff has been reinvented and updated showcasing the new car KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) which is now equipped with an “AI” (artificial intelligence) capable of hacking almost any system. KITT is not making the Hawaii trip. Only two Knight Rider cast will be in Hawaii, star Justin Bruening and Deanna Russo. The episode being shot here is called Knight to King Pawn. Russo’s character comes to Hawaii to get away from a personal tragedy back home. The majority of crew will be from Oahu. Preproduction begins Monday…

PAL RICHARD BURGI here over the weekend filming Knight Rider at Turtle Bay. Richard starred as Teri Hatcher’s ex in 33 episodes of Desperate Housewives. We became friends when he co-starred with Cheryl Ladd in One West Waikiki. I was the associate producer of the CBS series that was filmed in Hawaii.

Fun fact ... Glen Larson created Knight Rider and One West Waikiki.

It seems to me that there is only one person that Sarah could lose that would have that kind of effect on her, and that of course is her father.

I hope I'm wrong, especially given that he is being portrayed as our connection to the original series, but something tells me that short of having her conveniently fall in love with a total stranger, this is all we're left with given that her mother's death was established in the pilot.

That's exactly what I was thinking but all I could say was  It's kind of sad if it's true, I like him, but I guess it will reinforce Sarah's roll as KITT's mechanic. I wonder if we will get a Wilton-esc death scene?

How would you guys cope if your close loved one dies? Thinking in the spirit of Knight Rider, I don't look at this episode being REAL sad, ya know? Let's just say
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
Charles does die
, you know the Hawaii episode is going have lots of chillin' under the sun. Hell, it's going to brighten up my day by watching this one!

PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
I'm guessing that the events take place in the second part of Don't Stop the Knight (which earlier spoilers have revealed puts Carrie in a critical condition after a warehouse explosion).

Yeah, there's no way Charles is dying since we already know he's going to have something to do in a following episode. Maybe Carrie does get hurt though I dunno if that would be considered a "personal tragedy" for Sarah since they don't seem at all close or even friendly at this point.

How come they didn't take KI3T to Hawaii? They have a massive Jet and KI3Tis not afraid of flying.

Hey, I just thought of a crossover. How about Dog the Bounty Hunter and Knight Rider????

How come Ki3t is not making the trip to Hawaii? I mean, are they going to fight criminals without the assistance from Ki3t?

How is Charles the link between the old and the new series? He simply put together the Knight Industries 3000, he was never involved with the old Knight 2000, right?

... and let me get this right, so Charles is the father of Sarah?

I hope this was sarcasm. If not.....
these were all things that were established in the backdoor pliot.

Charles had some part into the creation of KI2T, then went on to build the Knight 3000.
And if you didnt know that Sarah was Charle's kid, then you are really not paying any attention at all to this show...

Well,if they're going to put a massive drama between Mike and Sarah,I don't see why they can't do something between Mike at KI3T or maybe Charles and KI3T.Is it just me,or is KI3T just "there" now? :|

It'll probably be that
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
she thinks Charles is dead, but in reality KARR abducted him. She though he was dead already once, in the pilot.
They can probably just revisit that concept.
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
I doubt they'd knock him in the 1st season. It could be a ratings boost in later seasons, but not now.

I saw that name, and thought...where did I see that before....first I thought it was Streek Hawk...you know, the motorcycle version of KR...Then i searched IMDB..and he guested on Viper...as well as the not as well known Chameleons in '89...which like KR featured a smart car that could change colors (it was an oldsmobile concept car)...and the series was created by guess who...Glen A Larson...in the series, the car was built by someone named Carr...

too funny

Charles had some part into the creation of KI2T, then went on to build the Knight 3000.
From Wikipedia:

"While the original series stated that the original KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was designed by Wilton Knight, the 2008 TV movie says that Charles Graiman designed the car and the AI for Wilton Knight, and was subsequently relocated to protect him and his family, and later designed the Knight Industries Three Thousand."

This b.s. came about when they aired the new Knight Rider earlier this year. Prior to this there was no one called Charles Graiman at all. Wilton Knight was the creator of Kitt. Period!

If some other creator comes along to give us a new Knight Rider in a few years from now and claims the designer of Ki2t to be someone else you would probably believe him, wouldn't you?

Chill buddy,

Wilton Knight wasn't the creator of KITT due to his illness. He was however the creator of KARR, and as such, was responsible for the creation of KITT's designs by default. As we saw in Knight of the Phoenix, a large number of engineers and technicians were responsible for the physical creation of KITT, and it was established in Junk Yard Dog that those engineers and technicians were led by doctors Von Voorman, Breeland and Yamata.

Now, whilst I agree that the specific explanation that was put forth in the backdoor pilot smacked of a desperate attempt to connect the backdoor pilot to the original series, they did leave just enough room to maneuver within what they established to allow us to help Graiman slip seamlessly into the established history, especially since Devon would never risk removing a man from protective custody, even if that meant that KITT's life would end, as he would see it as potentially trading one mans wealth of knowledge for the life of another.

That's right, I forgot. This won't be any good, since KITT won't be able to do battle with him.

Well, since we're doing this with spoiler tags, and i don't know how to do them, I'll try to leave certain names out of this post- BUT, since the new series began, I think we've all noticed how two of the characters from the pilot haven't been around all that much in the show, while the new producers have been shoving people like Billy and Zoe down our throats. I won't be upset if character B leaves- but they'd better not miss with character A. I just get the feeling that the producers weren't all that thrilled with the NBC mandate to have all four characters from the pilot brought into the series.
