Should KITT and KI3T be Seperate Entities?

I was just reading the forum untill a question popped up in my head:Should KITT and KI3T be Seperate Entities,or Should KI3T be an Updated Version of KITT?
It's just for fun,and I wonder what the rest of the forum members are thinking.

Vote in the poll,comment,or do both if you want.
I think both the options are great though.Although it would be fun to see KITT and KI3T fight evil side-by-side,it would be interesting what things could happen if KI3T was really KITT...

They should be separate and so far that's what has been indicated.

Heres the question.
Should they use the original KITT, or the KIFTs red car from Knight Rider 2000?

Blue car? You mean the Chevy? That old 1956 one? I'm amazed Michael was able to drive that thing away at the end. lol

I think of it more as a copy of the original KITT that's been upgraded.
making them seperate and the same at once

I think as far as everyone's concerned, KR2000 never happened....

Original KITT FTW! Knight Rider 2000 and TKR do not exist! BTW GST has stated KI2T and KI3T are seperate. I know this was made for fun but I got worried for sec lol

Not me ... As far as Knight Rider canonicity goes IMO, Team Knight Rider should be completely
struck off the record, but Knight Rider 2000 should remain canon, even if none of the events
of that haven't yet been mentioned in the new series ... assuming they ever will be.
Look at the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie, many fans didn't like it, but it's still considered canon.
If the Knight 4000 is ever mentioned in the new series, it ought to be classed as failed project,
thanks to mis-management by those in charge of the Knight Foundation after Devon's death.

A whole t.v. series, 22 episodes, struck off the record as if it never happened?
I don't know.
It wasn't poetry but it was produced for us to see.....
As per it being announced in the new series, I think that they will keep it "classified".

Thematically it makes perfect sense for KI2T and KI3T to be separate entities. KR08 is very much about a new generation continuing the fight of the original crew. It makes sense that KI3T would be a successor to KI2T just as Mike is Michael's successor.
As for continuities, I think being a "Transformers" fan has really helped me section off continuities using one concept in my head. The way I see it, there are four distinct KR continuities:
KRTOS -> KR 2000
KRTOS -> TKR
KRTOS -> KR08
KR 2010
But of course everyone can interpret what they wish.
