Now that they have made a accurate model of the Shelby Mustang GT500KR I have started work on making it into KITT. I must say thanks for this website for all the images which have made this possible as we haven't got the show in the UK to watch yet, hopefully that will change soon.

All you have to do is paint the hood scoop intakes anodized red and the middles of the front and rear seats red along with part of the door panel. Should be fairly simple.

Shelby badges removed, snake badges corrected, tail lamp diverders painted, scanner painted (not yet found someone who can do me a circuit board, if you can help please let me know), interior door and seat trim painted, steering wheel painted to replicate the Momo one, changed from manual to auto by removing clutch pedal and restyling the gearknob to replicate the auto shifter, dash centre vents removed & globe added with surrounding vents repainted.
I think that covers it.

Hey Andy, Are you going to put the KR plate on the bottom?

I find it weird that theres a 'SVT' on the doorway. I thought Ford had discontinued the SVT all together to promote its new found love with Mr. Shelby.

Has anyone got any screen shots of the kickplate on KITT? curious to see what is says.

I don't yet know what patterns it does, but this kit is available from Maplin:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=22559
You may have to get two and run them together?
J - who knows nothing about this sort of thing.

hi andy, may i know how you actually removed the dash center vent? I've one of this die-cast but can't figure out how to remove it. And also to remove the shelby badges without damaging the original paint job?
p/s: you sure did a nice piece of work there.

You have to remove the dash from the car and then with a small handtool sander, sand away the vents, but don't go too far otherwise you'll end up with holes.
Removing Shelby requires gentle paint cutting compound & re-polish, care needs to be taken just to remove the letters and not cut throught the paint. The rear on the matt black you need to repaint, otherwise you'll remove the matt black stripes.

PS, i did it first.

SVT has been relegated to mere name recognition on parts and such while the SVT concept has been renamed Ford Performance.

Awesome 1:18 KITT! Perhaps if they pick the series up for Season 2, well see some real production Mustang 1:18 KITT's. Yours will probably still look better though...haha.
