So KI3T has 'Submarine Mode' now, huh?
It occurs to me that all he needs now is the ability to fly, and.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgqWcBsWuRo
...and Gerry Anderson did it better too.
This show is an absolute JOKE and does NOT deserve another season.

Knight Rider: The Original Series, "A Plush Ride", 1982.
Michael explains to Bonnie why there is seaweed under K.I.T.T.'s hood. You see, there were these thieves that were scuba divers near the marina, and they were escaping, so naturally...
The original K.I.T.T. had it (although we never saw it). Michael's Chevy was submerged in Knight Rider 2000, although the water got into K.I.T.T.'s CPU. Now the Knight 3000 has a submersible mode. It's nothing new.

What about when that little plastic Kitt tumbled down the slope of dirt with those big clumps of dirt pretending to be boulders ROFL

Off course he does and so does most around here, they simply hate the show and all about it and just want the 80's show back as it was during the 80's time period, period KITT cannot exist in the 21st century it's just a phisical imposibility... except as an antique in a curiosity shop that is...

Maybe if you spent a little more time reading all the comments being posted you would see that most people actually like the new show and are commenting on changes they think need to be made so it WILL BE a success as a new Knight Rider.
not becasue they want a copy of the old Knight Rider.
I think one thing that needs to happen is that we need some explanations as to why there's no FLAG in this show, why are they hooked up with FBI? why is Kitt now top secret? I think these are important changes away from the original KR show and they need explaining.

I'm with you...
I've been lucky enough to see the original run of the First Knight Rider series on TV and the extended plot and mystery does the show credit, its just the little things that have to be resolved like the Optimus Kitt Concept... The Car submarine/vehicle idea has been around for a long time... This is no different..
The concept has been seen on
The spy who loved me...
Cannonball Run 2...
Kitt's Waterwings From the original series...
And my favorite... The Viper Hovercraft...

the stunts in the original series were far superior than what we are seeing in this new series, ill take the plastic model cars from the 80s show anyday over the cheap looking cgi that the new series uses. at least the original series things were a lot more believable and the car didn't transform into a pickup truck. the dashboard was a lot cooler looking, and the steering wheel was awesome, the new kitt is basically a stock mustang with a voice modulator. they could have made this new series a lot better, but instead they chose to go with a transformers and fast and furious type of show. hopefully things will get better.

I for one thought it was pretty cool. You could see that it was coming though. In ther orig. Kitt drove on water once in season 3 I think. In Knight Rider 2000 Kitt also drove on water. Viper had hovercraft mode.
The problem is most die-hard Knight Rider fans remember how the orignal series was, and want that back in the new series. We all, myself included need to open up to the new ideas of the new series and just be thankful that we have a small chunk of our childhood back.

They do need to change some things, like the steering wheel, Sarah staying out of the driver's seat.....KITT should be progrmed only to allow Michael to drive him..........

I used to like to see KITT flip over down a cliff and come out completely unharmed....

When I saw the submarine mode, on reflex I just said aloud "Oh cooool!". I liked it in "James Bond", I thought it was cute in KR 2000 and I like it here. This is hardly something to bash the show on as its own "bad idea" since submersible cars have been done forever (even Batman has one!).

Yeah I didn't think the Sub mode was unreasonable. And both my kids thought it was kewl. So it can't be too bad

I agree, but I would ask this question..
At what point does it have so many changes, and moves so far away from to original concept that it's no longer a Knight Rider show?
I think there are certain ideas of a show that need to be followed through in any re-incarnation or revival of a show, otherwise it might as well be called somethign else. And thats true for any show, not just KR.

Everyone has different viewpoints on what makes up any show (just ask "Star Trek" fans!). My personal take on the required elements of a KR show are:
1. A "supercar", which I define as one with an AI and abilities beyond those of any existing car.
2. A "hero" character partnered with the car.
3. Character interaction between the car and said hero.
4. Criminals who operate "above the law" (IOW, carry out crimes that normal police generally do not or cannot stop).
5. A good quantity of action scenes.
Now here's the thing. These elements can all exist and "make" the show a KR show IMO, but that doesn't mean it becomes a
high quality show. Even TKR had these elements for the most part, but the quality of the writing didn't quite take the show where it needed to go.
I think KR08 has managed to do this to a large degree, but it needs more work in others (which are discussed in other threads).

Well, the answer Rob is very, very simple.
If you don't like it, don't watch it.

I guess I can put up with a crappy looking very fake turbo boost and a submarine car, what really needs to change is the acting. I mean they get hit with a missle fall off a cliff into the water, and their not even raising a voice or even appear upset about it? Their definetly not going to win any awards for the acting.
I'm going to compare the acting to a porno... Just without the sex... lol

Trissybabes has a point.I like the show, although I think the actors can put some more emotion into their characters.

Yeah but what about the director who accepts that acting as good enough to use in the show?
Actors do what they are told to do by the director and the script.
If you don't like it, don't watch it.
Then when there's more people not watching than there are watching, the ratings plummet and the show gets canceled.. smart plan.
I'd rather see the producers take on board some of what's been talked about in here, make some changes and keep the show alive.

You're right, but people have to understand this: How many episodes are already filmed

If the producers change this stuff, it will be several episode before they do so.

Odd suggestion since if they weren't screaming or panicing, that probably means the
script probably did not call for it. In that case, shouldn't the more accurate criticism be that the writer should have written some panic in?
