That's great news! Very happy to hear it. This show needs some time to find it's groove so I really want to see how the full season plays out.

NBC orders more 'Knight Rider'
Network asks for four more scripts of drama
By CYNTHIA LITTLETON

NBC is showing some faith in "Knight Rider," ordering four more scripts of the frosh drama from Universal Media Studios.
Update of the 1980s talking car skein has performed so-so in the ratings but has had traction with young men in its Wednesday 8 p.m. slot in three airings to date.

Series stars Justin Bruening and is exec produced by Gary Scott Thompson, Doug Liman and Dave Bartis.

When I mentioned this in the chatroom it was because I saw it on the news page. :P It's been up there since around 5pm apparently, gotta look at it more.

Hopefully this is completely good news and not "we're going to give you more of a chance to get it right, if you don't then you're canceled".

That's great news :) Thirteen + 4 = 17 episodes now, I guess it needs just 5 more for a full season?
I haven't seen one single episode yet but from the discussions in this site & pics the show looks very interesting, exotic cars and pretty girls guest starring, etc. I definetely want to watch it when it air here on tv and can't wait to have this series on DVD.

this is promising news, i seem to remember TKR actually had 22 eps though and IMO was nowhere near as good as this new incarnation
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
(generally speaking, allowing for the Iguana episode although that was still better than TKR...)
Its not the SFX that make it better, its the overall feel of the show which is more 'Knight Riderish...'

Whilst it's good, dont get too excited until they actually order the episodes to be shot.
They can comission the next hundred scripts, but if people dont watch..............

It is an interim step. It's not a full commitment, yet. But, it's encouraging...

What would be encouraging is if they did something to hook the fans in NOW.
Screw this crap of trying to give the show its own identity right now.
It isnt working.

Bring in The Hoff and William Daniels now, film a two parter ( Im betting they already have a script outline written for this ) and air it as soon as possible. Get the viewers in NOW..
By the time they do do The Big Return episode..noone will be watching and hardly anyone will care.

True. However TKR was ages ago, in a very different television landscape. Back then, TV had not yet lost so much ground to video games and the internet. Also, the writer's strike had not happened, causing reduced seasons, nor was there a potential actor's strike at the time. In many ways, TV was much more permissive back then, ordering full seasons without any indication of how well a show would do. Now networks are 10x more cautious.

This is promising news indeed, but sadly in recent time other shows have ordered scripts and then been cancelled ("Surface" comes to mind). My fingers are crossed!
