Where's the Leather Jacket?

Anyone noticed that Mike is not wearing the leather jacket anymore in the series?

Mike wearing the leather jacket in the pilot was one point that helped me connect to the fact that he was the son of Michael Knight, and it suits him very well. I hope the writers will decide to put Mike on a leather jacket soon, but looking at the first 3 episodes, it seems that the leather jacket would not be fit to wear on those locations (i.e. beaches). It disappoints me though. Bring in the leather jacket back please!

You raise an interesting point: just how much is the leather jacket a Knight Rider "trademark"??

There was only one episode of the Original Series in which Michael didn't wear the jacket (although in driving scenes it still appears). It was a big part of the look of the character. The new show, personally I'm not sure it needs it. Mike is a different man to his father. We already had the nod to the jacket in the TV movie. There are plenty of other trademarks of the original that have carried over to the new show, I'm not sure if the show needs the leather.

Be interested in what everybody else thinks on this...

Loved the leather jacket appearing in the Feb movie, liked the fact that there was the twist of the 'hoodie' over the back of it...

While I did enjoy the fact that Mike wore both a red shirt and leather jacket in the 2-hour backdoor pilot, I also don't think it's going to be needed much. David Hasselhoff had the red turtleneck and black jacket as a subliminal way of showing that he's a continuation of K.I.T.T., but the jacket wasn't practical in every episode. Take "K.I.T.T. Vs. K.A.R.R.," for example. There's a scene where Michael is questioning people about K.A.R.R. and he's talking to a girl in a bikini near the beach while he's standing there in a leather jacket.

But on a side note, I did like how Mike's jacket was a bit different and his red shirt was a bit darker to imply that he's a sloppier and possibly even tougher guy than his father.
