I think I know the reason why they used the blue neon lights on the New Attack KITT, I think they used the blue neon lights show it would help Michael & Sarah know that is KITT coming since I notice in the first episode it was kind of dark and kind of hard to see KITT

The car has headlights and a giant red scanner light... and you're actually looking for a logical reason for neon being on the bottom of the car?

That is my guess on that

People are complaining about the KR under the car. I wonder if that was done as a trademark symbol of some type. The Kenner toys had a big red Knight 2000 on the side I wonder if this is somthing similiar.

Ah - but it could be a bog standard Mustang with a JC Whitney scanner taped to the bonnet.

I think the red might have clashed too much with the scanner. I feel that then neon need not be there, KITT needs a mysteriousness about him...

I did like, however, the lights changing to red inside when he was in attack mode. I like KITT in Attack Mode... just lose the neon.

The neon is there because GST is unable to make a car show without the F&F influence. He does not know the meaning of the words subtle, sleek or stealth. He wants KITT to scream " Hey look at me, I'm a butt ugly mustang with big tires and a foolish spoiler, I'm flying through the air and just in case you did not notice me check out my cool blue neon, I belong to Knight Research".

While you won't find me defending the 'KR' on the bottom, you know the old KITT had red lights on the bottom in Super Pursuit Mode, right?

Thats a no-brainer, JC Whitney had a 50% off sale on Blue neon.

There were only 2 episodes where Super Pursuit Mode was used at night, and they were both brief sequences. The episodes were "Knight Behind Bars" and "Deadly Knightshade."

If there was just one thing I could change about this show, I would have them ditch the neon on the bottom of the car. I hate it.
