A small confusion with the Yancey Arias interview

Yancey Arias talks about a transformation that takes place when Ki3t morphes into the attack mode. He says that a lot of technology is behind that event, worth millions of dollars!
How come the transformation event falls into the group of "expensive technology" when it's done with pure computer animation, such as any cartoon movie? The point being, he makes it sound like the transformation thing happens in real life with parts coming out of the chassis and turning into weapons, big alloy wheels and what have you! That's pure computer animation isn't it?

I think it was in context of his character. Wasn't he talking about how he was responsible for the team and the millions of dollars of technology. This was then later referenced when we was talking about current and new technology in real life.

This is what he says in the interview and I quote:
"...that I feel what Kitt is, I mean he transforms into other vehicles and the technology behind that and what it takes for that to happen, we're talking millions of dollars..."
He talks about how this technology is going to be avaliable for the military in a year or two, that I understand; nevertheless, how is this technology worth millions of dollars when it's based on computer animations?

Ummm. By the fact that the technology is going to be available to military, then surely its worth millions of dollars. What he said is still grammatically correct then. Yes it is CGI, but the real technology is worth millions of dollars to the military.

Grammatically incorrect if you ask me becuase he's talking about the CGI at hand (worth millions of dollars). The military is not even mentioned in that sentence; however, when putting everything together one can understand how the technology can be useful to the military in the future.
I think that clears my confusion...

Well, CGI software is expensive, though not costing millions. But the computers to run that software one I dunno - it could cost that must.
Very vague but probably was mean to be kayfabe.

Kayfabe? They're going old school pro wrestling attitude towards the new show?

*Hopes KITT has a "Steel Chair" mode where he can whack badguys over the head.*
I'm fairly sure he meant that KITT and the technology is worth millions (and millions) of dollars in a story sense.
