'Angel' disses Knight Rider

David Boreanaz, 'Angel' in the Buffy franchise and now starring in "Bones", was asked a series of pop-culture questions for ew.com. Here's one of his responses:

"The most overrated show on TV is...
Heroes. We were doin' that in '97 with Buffy. I love all the people on Heroes, I know all the actors, but I think it's overrated. I personally don't get it. Should I go down my list of overrated shows that are coming out? Knight Rider, please, don't give it a chance. Who cares about a car that can talk? I did — in the '80s."

But as ew.com wisely points out: "Knight Rider is on opposite Bones this fall."

Getting nervous, David? :)

Well, considering "Bones" is going head to head with KR trash talking the competition isn't shocking. :) I actually enjoy "Bones" a lot, but KR will win each time. Note he disses two NBC shows too. Could just be network competition. And hey, he could have been saying those things with a grin in jest. Text is horribly at communicating emotional context.

Um...how can a show be overrated when it hasn't even premiered yet?

Perhaps he meant over-hyped? But who cares. Sounds like he was just blowing hot air. I've never seen Bones either, but it looks like just another detective show and personally I think there's already enough of them. That's why I like Hereos so much and can't wait for Knight Rider to premiere. For once, it's something different and fun to watch. :D

I agree, there is too much of the same thing on TV! My shows all start this month, Knight Rider, Heroes, Supernatural and the Sarah Connor Chronicles. :good:

Now, I could take the stereo-typical Knight Rider fan-boy approch and do a p*ss & moan speech about how I've lost some respect for Mr.Borenaz about him dissing Knight Rider.

But, I'm not going to do it. For the simple reason, the best way is to watch Knight Rider do well in the ratings and to watch him eat his words and just smile.

Knight Rider, over-rated? I disagree. To me, Knight Rider is one of those shows that will appeal to all ages, because it has something for everyone. And granted, it's not always going to be everyone's cup of tea, but that's life for ya.

So, Borenaz, you think KR is over-rated, huh? Fine...will you be saying that if it does well in the ratings and trounces your show?

I doubt it somehow... 8)

Wow, Bones is on it's fourth season already, I'm surprised its been that long. I guess it does fairly well for Fox to let it live to see a fourth season.

I don't quite think they were doing "Heroes" 20 years ago with Buffy.

Yes Buffy and Angel were good but Heroes holds my attention much more. It's about the whole package.

I think he's been gnawing on too many fried chicken 'Bones' too. Get some salad Boreanaz...

in the immortal words of john cena: I don't care what the fans say as long as they make noise that's supporting our entertainment.

I think that applies to KR too 8) :dash4:

David Boreanaz is a complete jerk, hes just scared that Knight Rider will take a big huge stinky dump all over his show!

How can he say its overrated?

It hasnt even aired yet.

He might be reffering to the original series, or the pilot?

Who knows?

 I watch Bones and yes, I admit I like the show, but I'm WAY more excited for Knight Rider than any Bones episode. It's all a matter of what you like. He's just saying that because either he is getting competitive or it really is his personal opinion. It really doesn't matter. He's only one person (and more people are probably excited for KR than Bones. Ha!)

Why is it stars assume we, the general public, give a flying fig about what they think? I'm always curious about that. Although, in all fairness, this was in response to an interview, but still....
