Here's another random thought from your Knight of Youtube; what if it had been Bill Bixby as Michael Knight?

True, Bixby was a completely different actor to David Hasselhoff but Bill had a aire of wit about him that might have complimented Knight Rider.

He was a good actor, shame his life got cut short.

Bill didn't need KITT.............he had Lou Ferrigno

Michael: "K.I.T.T, come get me!"

K.I.T.T.: "Not now, Michael, I have a headache."

Michael: "%#@& you, K.I.T.T , you would`nt like me when I get angry!"

He was already in his 40's when he did the hulk- he would've been too old to play Michael knight. 200th post!

I'm not saying he was a bad actor, just not right for the role. I would like to add though, I thought he was great in the Incredible Hulk series and I still enjoy them compared to the 2 film versions. CGI Hulks suck.

Ditto on the Hulk thing, although I havent seen the new movie yet..is it any good? the reviews said it is.

Bill Bixby would have made guest star as either one of the original scientist who helped develop K.I.T.T. or he could have played a villain in two part episode for a season opener or something. It's just a thought.

Bill Bixby as Michael Knight is really too bizarre for me to fathom. He has a completely different acting style than David Hasselhoff, which is probably the point, but with the amount of fighting and stunts that occurred throughout the course of Knight Rider, I highly doubt Bixby's style would have made it as acceptable. He played David Banner in The Incredible Hulk because of his passive/reserved qualities, for lack of better words. If he wasn't that way, there wouldn't be much of a point in him turning into the Hulk or having a need for the Hulk, would there?

I think it's an interesting question, but I see it as more of a broad question. For instance, I'd like to ask "What if one of the other actors who tried out for the part of Michael Knight was picked instead of Hasselhoff?" Don Johnson was one of those actors. It's a lot easier for me to imagine him in Michael's shoes and how his style would have made the part a little different. He might have come up with his own relationship with the car aside from using words like "buddy" and "pal," or he might never have added those types of things and had a colder approach.

Somehow, i can't see the king of pastels in Michael's leather jacket.

For the majority of the first four seasons he did, but once season five got underway without a number of the major production people on board, he started wearing heavy duty boots, ripped jeans, and the odd time, even traded his sports jacket in for a leather one, like the time when he flew to see his son, Billy, whilst Caroline was pregnant with the child of her second husband.

And instead of catherine Hickland, Sheena Easton could play Stevie.
