Changes to the Moderation team at Knight Rider Online

I wanted to take a moment and talk about a small addition to the team at Knight Rider Online. This individual, while currently a moderator at Knight Rider UK, has been an active member since 2002. He's been a reasonable voice in the forums and more recently he's helped Mike and I cover Comic Con in a way that no other site could. Most importantly he's become a good friend to KRO and myself over the recent months/years.

For this, and many other things over past few years, we're pleased to welcome Matthew as a moderator at Knight Rider Online! He primarily will be helping us with the forum, but will be welcome to help us out in other areas as needed. I know he will do great in help keeping the level of moderation we have kept around here - which has been very light. We all tend to stand up for one another, so thinking of a moderator as a Police isn't right, we should think of the moderators as a voice we respect when all else fails.

Matthew will continue to serve as moderator at Knight Rider UK, and they've got a great group over there, so I don't see this being a conflict for anyone. This is also a conditional moderation for one week, so both Matthew can get a feel of the waters and you can get a feel of Matthew.

We've also reached the tough decision to return Knightshade to non moderator status. With all the new faces, I'm sure not many of you remember her, but she was a great friend during her time here, and we wish her well wherever she is.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to voice them here or via PM. Anything sent privately will be kept confidential.

Thanks and please welcome Matthew! :good:

Neil

Thanks Neil, :good:

I appreciate that there could be a degree of uncertainty for some of you who’ve been around a lot longer than many of the others, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that you’d be quiet right to have your doubts.

I’m hopeful that what I do in the here and now will be able to help assuage any of those doubts that may have lingered though, because I’m very much looking forward to taking on this exciting new challenge.

Being able to cover Comic-Con so closely despite being in the UK was a particular highlight for me, and I’ll forever owe Neil a debt of gratitude for involving me so closely in not only the coverage, but the planning of how we’d get the information back to all of you.

Fingers crossed, we’ll get through season one successfully, and be able to do much more of the same in the not so distant future. :)

Congrats, Matthew. :)

What ever happened to Knightshade anyway? I haven't seen her around in *ages*. She is also a great fanfic writer. Wherever she is, hope she's doing well. I for one miss seeing her around.

Congrats, Matt! You're a great mod at KRUK, and I know you'll do an awsome job here. :good:

As for Knightshade, last I heard, she is expecting, and due some time later this month. So belated congrats to her, too!

Welcome aboard. :D

Just remember what all those buttons do. :dash: After all, Turbo Boost is reserved for emergency events, only.

Thanks Jup, :good:

Funnily enough, I did catch the Turbo Boost button last night. Thankfully though, the © button does more than just put the top down. ;)

I'm always far more cautious around those ones marked "E" and "X".

Congrats Matt!! You’re doing a great job! :good: It’s very cool to have an international moderator seeing how we already have so many international members.
Ooooh secret buttons? Sounds cool! Is there like a secret forum too? :shifty:

Yeah, there's nowt worse than accidentally editing or deleting someone else’s post.

Thanks babe, :good:

I've not found a secret forum yet, but I suppose there could be one hidden behind a magic doorway. Maybe if I try pressing a bunch of buttons in sequence, the door will appear like the entrance to the Bat Cave did in Batman Begins!? ;)

Actually, there is one. But, we've had such an awesome assembly of folks here at KRO that the need for it proved unnecessary and it went into mothballs. This only proves what a wonderful community we truly have. And, many thanks are needed for everyone here that continues to make this possible.
