is the Knight Foundation the same thing as FLAG (the Foundation for Law And Government)?

FLAG is a division of Knight Industries. That's why KITT is called the Knight Industries Two(or Three if you're mentioning KI3T)Thousand.But if I'm wrong,would someone please correct me?

ok yea but what about the Knight Foundation? is that just another name for FLAG?

Oh *that*...Well I think it's different.

I thought it was that Knight Industries and FLAG were divisions of the Knight Foundation, under it's umbrella. At least that's how I understood it.

I always thought of Knight Industries as the main part and obviously the source of funds for its non-profit arm, the Knight Foundation which FLAG was a subdivision of it that dealt legal issues and most everything we saw in the show.

Maybe this will help some? I actually came across this subject yesterday while going through my different KR books.

Knight Industries is the main part of the whole operation. It is divided into five branches:

The fiscal branch - which is responsible for the financial aspect of Knight Industries.

The Knight Foundation - the charitable branch of Knight Industries.

The research and development branch - which is located near the Knight Estate.

The medical branch - Which saved Michael's life after he was shot.

The legal branch - Better known as the Foundation for Law and Government.

ook so i guess thats gonna be pretty much the same for the new series. and if not, im sure they'll explain it i the show

From all I can gather the new producers are going to change the Foundation to something
we as the original fan's wont recognize.

I feel they should have brought Mr. Larson in to do logical progression to the original because what they have done makes very little sense.

After all they have to pay him (Glen Larson) royalties in any event, why not ? do what Paramount did with Star Trek, get the originator on board so as not to alienate the fans who made it a hit in the 1st place?
Its not about the money, its about power & arrogance.

Having said that I will see if they have done better by fans, after all they did bring new writers in and changed things a bit, so who knows there may be hope yet.

Again, I think we need to wait until an episode airs before we get on them for something they may have not done. In this very thread we are showing that the original had many levels to the foundation - so too has GST gone on about Knight Research being one division of the larger Knight Industries whole.

Seems pretty similar to me with what we know as fact so far.

Agreed. It seems as though Knight Research will take what already exists in the mythology and add on to it, but not change it. Anyway the KITTCAVE looks awsome!
