2 tiny things which they could have done to give the feel of the old show...

both in the last scene actually....

1 On TOS KITT used to come into the 'trailer set' from left to right, woulda been nice to have the same set up to make it look similar

2 The way MT reversed out of the set (onto the green screen which you've all had fun with...) only using his mirrors, again MK always looked over his shoulder. Again, seeing as the 2 characters are related, it would be nice if they had similar driving styles. And why would JB reverse using only mirrors, is this his own driving preference and if it is, would it really hurt him much to look over his shoulder if hes only going onto a green screen...???

Im thinking possibly the second point could be explained by the knee injury that JB incurred during filming the fight scene after MT's "mother" (still not sure if she really was) was killed. I remember seeing in one of the behind the scenes clips, JB on crutches getting into the mustang.

Actually, I don't know why Micheal Knight looked behind him when KITT has videos all around the car. ;)

2 reasons for that...

1 MK had probably been driving for bout 15 years by the time he met KITT, so it was possibly just an old habit for the character

2 for practical reasons, in real life KITTs monitors didnt work (theres only one scene, dont remember the episode where theres a shot from outside the car and the screen is actually on and MK is talking to Devon...)

but the scene with mike traceur was using mirrors

Well, I mean if you are making a story about a computerized car with supposed monitors and "eyes" all around it, you would at least give the impression you didn't need to keep looking out the back window.
