If you found the most interesting man topic interesting than this might also interest you. My boss says to me, “You know Susan, we had Edward Mulhare as the host of our show, Secrets and Mysteries. Nice English man talking into the wormhole vortex.” She’s right, I was 8 but she’s right. Now I can play the Kevin Bacon game and connect myself to Knight Rider.

Also another random tidbit, while I was out filming “Day two of the Fire” for you all, I saw Hugh Laurie walking quickly with his motorcycle helmet tucked under his arm. I was gawking so he looked at me and at the camera in my hand, I didn’t turn it on because I’m not a paparazzi.

I guess no one was interested in this topic, but I saved some of the original tapes from the garbage anyway. I wish I could find the raw footage with Edward, that would be cool!

Pretty fun story, thanks for sharing! Is that the episode he was in? I'm sure someone has a Beta deck (I do, but in NJ) that we could digitize it?

My mother use to and probably still does somewhere hidden away in a storage unit but aside from being god knows where in the labyrinth that thing one of her stupid dogs chewed on the cord, fixable though if the thing could actually be found. On the other hand might be possible to find a machine somewhere, there has to be a studio or TV station out there that for some reason hasn't gone digital yet. Or of course a pawn shop (doubtful at this point), ebay, though I could imagine they'd charge an absurd amount for a old Betamax.

Mr Mulhare hosts all the episodes!! The youtube above is just one of them someone posted. He did a great job! What a professional! We were lucky to get him. And so soon after KR too! I guess the show is hard to come by these days. I’ll keep my eyes open for more tapes.

I completely understand you guy’s confusion. When I first started in television production I was shocked to find them using beta. As it turns out is not like the old betamax from the 1980s. It is called Beta SP. Now they also have Digi Beta, so yes, you still do find companies using it.

This is the protection copy so its sister tape was the one that was used for broadcast. Basically this is as high res as you’re gonna get.
