Most of us know that line by now.I really wish Devon would have shown us the dent Michael left after Knight of the Phoenix when kitt is being towed away fro repair before their flight at the end of the episode.

Basically what I get from this phrase it that Devon is talking about "damaging" the car, as opposted to actually denting the bodywork. Like when you "dent" someones confidence etc.
It was a sort of light hearted "only YOU could have dented this car", only Michael Knight could take something virtually indestructible and damage it. It basically builds upon the love/hate relationship Devon and Michael share throughout the pilot. They are 2 very different people.
Think of it in the way James Bond has a relationship with Q in many of the films pre-Casino Royal. "Try and bring this car back in one peace 007" etc.

I got that KITT was damaged, what I was wondering was...what exactly was damaged?
