TO VK: Ideas for the New Knight Rider Film!

Hello VK:

After seeing the new Iron Man movie that just came out and falling in love with it, I have come up with some interpretations that might be usefull in bring Knight Rider into the present time and creating that "Wow Factor" for the audience's out there.

-If you have seen the movie, his computer A.I. named "Jarvus" reminds me a lot of KITT. Savy, smart-ass, and still very computer like. I would love KITT to portray a similar personality and even voice similar to this type of attitude.

-Another factor is how easily information and databanks are brought up so fast with just saying what you want from Jarvis. For example, lets say in the movie you have a situation where Michael needs to get into a factory and needs the specs to see where the best possible route/solution to entering and retrieving some data. He would request this info from KITT, and he can then bring the entire blueprint in 3D H.U.D. to the screen and Michael can actually touch the visual appearing and KITT can show him visually where to go and such (keeping in mind what security cams or people you have to watch out for and such) The main factor I am trying to bring out is that the "touch screen" revolution is here and should be brough to Knight Rider exclusivly, think back then a talking car was hot, now all cars talk, so in order to get the audience into it we should have these touchscreen, H.U.D., features. The idea of the buttons on the dash is very oldschool and should be brought into a touchscreen sort of way.

-Bluetooth and wireless connections is also a new way into the future. When I think of this movie, I picture creating new ideas we don't see in cars and would liketo see or think is cool to have, especially in the case of Michael Knight's job. Especially computers, that of course has to play a big factor in this!

If you see or have seen Iron Man you will understand how cool KITT can be with all these unique ideas you can tweek instead of biting off from!

I hope my examples and ideas are relevant and could be of some use to the new world of Knight Rider!

I agree. Ironman was awesome and, even more so than Transformers, the technology seemed very futuristic yet feasible today. Excellent movie....I do hope the Knight Rider film will be a similar experience!

Good Idea - would also love to see KITT threaten Michael with a fire extinguisher.
But touchscreen ??? I dunno - - its been done. I'd suggest a 3D holographic display, projected onto the windscreen maybe. I'd then like to see Michael go to touch something on the far end, and smack his hand on the window.

I am currently working on something very substantial to the Knight Rider community which demands a great deal of my time to focus on. When I have enough progress, I will look over your posts and make a more articulate response.

Iron Man was the best Marvel movie to come out in a very long time. I have no doubts Glen got some ideas from it. Speed Racer on the other hand in my opinion I can sum up into two words, "psychedelic nonsense."

The Iron Man interface is very similar to the one used in Minority Report, and although they look cool on screen I'll raise the question: would Michael Knight want to use that kind of interface?

Assuming the movie is a relaunch (origin story) we can't be sure how this Michael Knight will be different from Hasselhoff's version. But Michael Knight, as we currently know him, wasn't really that much into technology. He thought that playing videogames was "getting into computers." In Iron Man, Tony Stark was a computer genius so it makes sense that he would be very good at using that kind of interface. Minority Report takes place in the future, so it might be second nature for Anderton to use the virtual touchscreens.

Michael Knight, as we know him now, was kind of an "every man." Granted, the average person on the street today is much better with computers than people were in 1982. But part of the fun of the early episodes of Knight Rider was watching Michael struggle with the technology a bit. What I would rather see (I think) is Bonnie using all of that fancy interactive hologram stuff when she's working on KITT, but when KITT tries to explain the interface to Michael, he yells back "just show me where the damn guards are!" That, to me, would be more true to the early Michael Knight character.

I agree Mike, that would be better. I forgot the part that Michael Knight wasn't really a computer geek. Although I think something like the hologram imagery with HUD on the screen isn't too much for him to understand IMO.

Back onto the voice though, I think the voice should have that similar computer sound to it, with that high tech feature sound is awesome to use.

VK I know your busy out there, just wanted to check on your opinion.

Thanks!
