NONE OF THIS IS REAL, IT IS JUST MY IDEA.

From the latest pilot they sold the cars. Which indicates there changing the cars however how would this fit in a storyline. I believe the ford mustang will not be the new KITT. I think it become KARR. Not sure how KARR came in the original series but my idea is that he will wreck the car (not his fault, maybe a car hack problem) in the mission he does. FBI will pay Graham to build a new one using parts from mustang however during transport it is stolen. He then manages to build a new car and it will be maybe a trans am Pontiac which will have new feratures compared to the KARR which can be passed off as a prototype. This will also have the original voice of the KITT. We don't hear of Karr untill the last episode when he has been reprogramed etc. As we go through the series the FBI will see a guy who in the backround of places where KITT will go. From this it will be the KARR driver (pretty lame).

So what do you think? Please add comments and ideas.

I think your idea is pretty far-fetched; however, this excerpt that neps provided from Gary Scott Thompson is intriguing me a bit and seems to be a bit on the same track as your idea (at least the idea of things drastically changing):

It kind of would answer everyones questions though
There are no new features (new car will have some)
Don't like voice (new voice can be made)
Don't like car (different car)
KARR is introduced (looks mean with a ford mustang)

I think that they may have a storyline like this because KITT currently has less features so they may get rid of it or somehow graham does work on it and it goes weird. It escapes and there is no sign of it.

It would be funny if he spilled coffee on the memory chips and changed it motives.

I would like to see a different car like a pontiac. It seems cooly

Yeah i know but I guess they want to listen to fans. Some are happy with this car like me and some hate it. Its like Marmite . Anyway I dicided I thought of this because the producer said somewhere "we can virtually change everything because this was a piolot. I hope it stays the same but with more features. I'm sure there are more features its only cause theres a touch sreen lcd and its not like a cockpit lol. and I said pontiac because I couldn't think of another car asin what people liked. I like the mustang but this was just and idea.

but it is possible from the pilot that Ki3t contracted a virus whilst the blackriver guys were hacking into it, this could lead to a personality change (assuming they actually GIVE the car a personality...! sorry couldnt resist)

it could be along the lines of Killer Kitt or soul survivor...

I wouldn't mind in the least bit if the car was changed to something a lot sleeker and futuristic looking but unfortunately I doubt that'll happen. They still need the car(s) to cost them next to nothing which unfortunately is only going to happen through sponsorship these days.

If so then my idea won't work.

I don't think ford want there car to be portayed as an evil car. I'd much apperiate it if the car morphed into a pontiac!!!!

Also I think they will bring back the trans am. Honestly if they didn't want to then why did they include the car in the garage of the pilot.

According to an interview in this forum the new producer or screenwriter say KITT will have a lot of new stuff and it will have the wow factor, He also said that kitt will have much better features than morphing.

Another exclusive:
Theres nothing bad in having hasselhoff around (not exact) so he will probably be in it. I suspect in the last 2 episodes where KITT is stolen and Mike is a hostage. or he is trapped. Graiham get hasselhoff to ride the new refurbished trans am and rescue the new KITT. That would be mega awesome. Then they would go off together and you would see a number of scenes where the mustang is compared to the Kitt and so on. It would be kinda cool. Get cheesey at they end

The plan to bring the Firebird/TA back was scrapped for several reasons and Pontiac doesn't make a car that would be a good KITT contender. Besides that, Pontiac resented the TA being associated with Knight Rider and were apparently even approached for the new one and they, along with GM as a whole, weren't interested.

They aren't going to do any "Hoff/Original KITT rescue the new guys" stories if just for the fact that it would completely undermine the new lead actor and car.

I see what you mena, The doge challengers rear need improvement. Personally I like the mustangs hood lights, rear overall, and mean look. I think people don't realise that it is a custom made muscle car and KITT represents that also with shelby to the name it makes it the fastest Mustang on the road.
